About me

Hi, I'm Jonas Hviid — illustrator, storyteller, and the creator behind Jonas Hviid Art.

I’m a self-taught artist who’s been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. As a kid growing up in the small Danish town of Grevinge, I was obsessed with cartoons, superheroes, and comics. I’d spend hours sketching heroes and villains, trying to get every line just right. That love for characters and stories never left me.

Fast forward a few years (okay, maybe more than a few), and I’m now living in the Faroe Islands with my wife and our two kids, surrounded by wild, rugged nature that’s as inspiring as it is unpredictable. You’ll often see that influence sneak into my work — the misty mountains, the moody seas, and the quiet little moments from island life.

Jonas Hviid Art is where I share my creative world. Right now, I sell posters and postcards featuring my designs, but more is on the way.

My style is a bit of everything — I love exploring new techniques and ideas, from digital drawing in Procreate to printmaking methods like linocut and monoprint. What ties it all together is a love for storytelling. Each piece I make has a little story behind it.

For years, I’ve shared my art and work process on Instagram. But I wanted a space, organized where you can discover my work, and easily grab a print or two for your wall.

Thanks for being here. I hope my art makes you smile, think, or feel something — even if just for a moment.

How the Shop Works

Everything in this shop is made using print on demand, which means your order is printed and packed just for you — only when you buy it.

I work with trusted print partners who help me bring my designs to life on high-quality materials, whether it’s posters, postcards, or (soon!) apparel and accessories. This setup lets me offer a wider range of products without overproducing — which is better for the planet and helps keep my little art business sustainable.

It also means I don’t keep a big stockpile of prints at home (as charming as that sounds). Instead, once you place an order, it’s printed, packed, and shipped straight to you from the nearest production center — so you get your item faster and with fewer travel miles.

Because everything is made to order, it might take just a tiny bit longer to arrive than something off a shelf — but I promise it’s worth the wait.

Thanks for supporting small artists and thoughtful production. You're the best.

Warm greetings from the Faroe Islands
- Jonas
